Have you ever wondered about the meaning behind worship?
After reading Romans 12, I began to intentionally seek God to determine if worship was more than the songs we sing on a Sunday morning. Along the way, worship has changed my mindset in these three areas:
- Life– We all fall short of the glory of God, so let’s take life and learn how to do better. Life is so much more than the cycle of getting up, working, eating, sleeping, and repeating. When we choose God, we choose a purposeful life.
- Healing– Where does healing come from? It comes from God! He is the ultimate healer and comforter. By growing closer to him, he promises rest for our weary souls.
- Growth– While we go through life, we encounter trials and triumphs. We continue this process and can grow through each obstacle and praise during each victory. The best part? We don’t have to live life alone!
Lord my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me.Psalm 30:2
As I continue learning more about God, I begin to see the essence of worship. The letter below is full of my heart on the matter, and after reading it, I hope you will join me on this continuous journey of seeking God and intentionally worshiping Him. You can also learn more about us here.
“AWD” By His Goodness
Thank you for reminding me that you’re still good whether I succeed or fail in my own eyes. You know my heart, and you know that I love to write.
But YOU! God, you are so faithful. Even though my confidence wanes as I struggle to put meaning to the words before me, you remind me that it is all in your hands. You tell me to go back and look at your Word- to remember Philippians 4:6 and not be anxious about anything.
So here I am, Lord. Here is my heart, open to you. I thank you again. Sometimes, words may not come out, but that doesn’t stop the trees and mountains from singing your glory. It didn’t stop the sun from shining.
If I look closely, I see your glory all around me. The breath in my lungs, the beat of my heart, and the peace that transcends all understanding.
You, Lord, know all things and are not limited by time. Let me continue to dwell in your sweet presence. Lord, how can I experience more of your peace? Where do I go to understand your heart?
Regardless, I know that right now, as I write these words, you are with me. Above all else, that brings a calm, similar to the soft floral breeze of Spring, to my soul.
Your Expectant Daughter,
God has given us various ways to worship.
He shows us in scripture, time and again, that he is pleased by them all.
